AFT Webinar – March 2026 (Neuro Gait Analysis)

March 12 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Virtual Event
Free

Understanding, identifying and supporting neurological walking impairments in practice.

Walking difficulties are one of the most common and life-limiting challenges experienced by individuals with neurological conditions. However, gait changes are often complex, subtle and multifactorial — making them difficult to assess and address confidently without a structured framework.

This practical, evidence-informed webinar introduces the fundamentals of neuro gait analysis and provides clinicians, exercise professionals and support staff with the tools to observe, interpret and respond to walking impairments safely and effectively.

Participants will explore the components and phases of the normal gait cycle before learning how neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke and other acquired brain injuries alter movement patterns. Through guided video case studies and real-world examples, you’ll develop the skills to recognise common abnormal gait presentations and understand what they mean functionally.

Importantly, this session also highlights the role of multi-disciplinary collaboration in gait rehabilitation, helping attendees understand where exercise, therapy, nursing and medical input fit together to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

This webinar is suitable for:

  • GPs and Consultants
  • Specialist Nurses (PD/MS)
  • Therapists
  • Carers
  • Personal Trainers
  • Exercise Referral Instructors
  • Rehabilitation and exercise specialists

Whether you work in clinical, community, home-care or fitness settings, this session will strengthen your observational skills and clinical reasoning to better support safe, confident mobility.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the components and phases of the gait cycle
  • Identify the characteristics of normal and abnormal gait
  • Recognise common neurological gait patterns across conditions such as Parkinson’s, MS and stroke
  • Observe and analyse gait using structured video case studies
  • Understand a range of treatment and rehabilitation approaches across disciplines
  • Appreciate the role of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in effective gait rehabilitation
